Associate in Arts Degree
Course Descriptions
The history major fosters an understanding of ourselves and our world
through the study of the past-both remote and recent. The program
develops critical thinking and a broad background in issues and ideas
from our past. The major thus prepares students for transfer to B.A.
programs in history.
Career Opportunities:
The history major offers all students fundamental preparation for careers in:
- business
- government
- teaching
- and a number of professional fields (for example,
paralegal or law careers).
Transfer Program
Transfer Program: Transfer students should
consult the Requirements of Transfer Institutions in this catalog and
the History or related major sections of the specific catalog for the
institution to which they wish to transfer to determine admissions,
general education, and major requirements. Consultation with an SCC
counselor is advised.
