Scholarship InformationMission Statement
The California Capital Airshow Scholarship promotes interest in aviation and aerospace careers in the Sacramento region. The scholarship has been created to encourage young people to pursue careers in aviation, aeronautics, or aerospace related fields.
Priorities in awarding scholarships will include: · Desire and intention to pursue a professional career in the areas of aviation management, aeronautics, aerospace engineering, aeronautical mechanics and electronics, or other related fields · Interest in and progress toward related educational goals · Potential for academic excellence · Prior experience in related field
Individuals eligible to apply include high school seniors and college students or returning students who have at least two years of academic college level work yet to complete. The Scholarship Committee awarded sixteen scholarships in 2007, ranging between $500.00 and $2,000.00 each. It is anticipated that $20,000.00 in scholarship dollars will be available in 2008.
Scholarships will be awarded during the California Capital Airshow Week, dates and details of which are pending.
The scholarship program is administered through the Los Rios Community College District, Sacramento City College on behalf of the California Capital Airshow Board. Scholarships will be awarded to students attending or upon acceptance to an accredited college, university, or vocational-technical school in the United States. |
