Description: This course addresses the history of architecture in the Western world from c. 1400 up to the Modernist period, c. 1900. The course covers Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Neoclassical, and 19th century architecture in Europe and America, and will focus on the functions and meanings of architecture within Western culture. A field trip to view local architecture is required.
