Title I - By Laws
TITLE I-BYLAWS
1.0 A student, group of students, senators or officers of the ASSCC may propose bylaws after having been judged constitutional by the Judicial Branch. The Chief Justice shall submit any judgment of unconstitutionality, within three (3) business days after receiving the bill, to the sponsor(s) in writing. If the office of Chief Justice is vacant or on leave of duty, then the senior Associate Justice shall submit any judgment on the bill. If no Associate Justices are seated, then the Senate and Legislative Branch shall proceed with acting on the bill, deferring to Chief Justice judgment, when the Chief Justice becomes available. Bylaws shall become effective when passed by the Senate, ratified by a majority vote of the Legislative Branch and signed by the ASG President.
1.1 All proposed bylaws must be presented to the Senate for action. The Senate may table, amend, pass by majority vote, or defeat any proposed bylaw. If the bylaw passes the Senate, the bylaw shall be presented to the ASG President and will be voted on during the next meeting of the Legislative Branch. If the bylaw fails to pass the Senate, the bylaw is considered dead and the Legislative Branch may take no action on the bylaw.
