Title II - Office Duties, Protocal, and Succession Code

TITLE II-OFFICERS DUTIES, PROTOCAL, AND SUCCESSION CODE

2.0 The duties of the officers of the Cabinet shall be;

2.1 TREASURER
2.1.1 Shall supervise the collection and disbursement of ASG funds.
2.1.2 Shall prepare the budget for the ASG for the next fiscal year.
2.1.3 Shall chair the Finance Committee.
2.1.4 Shall present a written financial report at Legislative Branch meetings.
2.1.5 Shall keep a current record of income and expenditures of the ASG.
2.1.6 Shall make recommendations to the ASG on all expenditures.
2.1.7 Shall represent the ASG at all budget committees at the campus and district level.
2.1.8 Shall represent the ASG on the campus Financial Aid Committee.

2.2 COMMISSIONER OF STUDENT AFFAIRS
2.2.1 Shall organize and supervise all events sponsored by the ASG.
2.2.2 Shall chair the Social Activities Committee.
2.2.3 Shall chair the Elections Committee.
2.2.4 Shall have primary authority and responsibility for the operation of all elections and ballot tabulation.
2.2.5 Shall be the liaison of the Elections Committee to the Student Government.
2.2.6 Shall chair the homecoming committee.

2.3 COMMISSIONER OF INTER CLUB COUNCIL
2.3.1 Shall chair the Inter Club Council (ICC) and serve as a liaison between the ICC and the ASG.
2.3.2 Shall be co-coordinator of club events on campus

2.4 COMMISSIONER OF LEGISLATIVE AFFAIRS
2.4.1 Shall monitor and report upon current legislation affecting students at the local, state and federal levels.
2.4.2 Shall attend at least one of the SCC campus-standing committees.
2.4.3 Shall oversee upkeep of the Constitution and By-Laws. This means, if the
Constitution is amended or a Bill is passed into a Bylaw, it is the responsibility of the Commissioner of Legislative Affairs to incorporate said Amendment or Bylaw into the governing documents of the Associated Student Government, and distributes the Amended Constitution and/or Bylaws to all members of the Associated Student Government without fail.
2.4.4 Shall meet with the two (2) state representatives. The representative of Assembly District #9 and the representative of Senate District #6, each at least twice a semester, and the representative of Congressional District #5 once a school term, to advocate the SCC students’ position on State legislation.
2.4.5 Shall report the status of setting up the meeting appointments with the representatives and all meeting results at each meeting of the ASG Legislative Branch.

2.5 COMMISSIONER OF PUBLIC RELATIONS
2.5.1 Shall be responsible for publicizing all ASG functions and meetings.
2.5.2 Shall oversee publications funded by the ASG.
2.5.3 Shall chair the Public Relations Committee.
2.5.4 Shall provide monthly press releases to the student run newspaper.
2.5.5 Shall be the ASG spokes person to the press.

2.6 COMMISSIONER OF TECHNOLOGY
2.6.1 Maintain the web site of the ASG.
2.6.2 Maintain the office equipment of the ASG and the training of personnel.

2.7 SECRETARY
2.7.1 Shall take and maintain the minutes of the ASG and the Cabinet having copies ready for distribution no later than 48 hours after the Legislative Branch meeting.
2.7.2 Shall be responsible for posting the current agenda 72 hours prior to the next Legislative Branch meeting.
2.7.3 Shall be responsible for Number Indexing Legislative Proposals in the order they are received.
2.7.4 Shall, with the ASG Vice President, be responsible for creating and maintaining an ASG archive, which shall contain all documents with an index of the ASG.

2.8 ORDER OF PROTOCOL
2.8.1 The order of protocol shall be; President, Vice President, Chief Justice, Treasurer, Commissioner of Student Affairs, Commissioner of Inter Club Council, Commissioner of Legislative Affairs, Commissioner of Public Relations,
Commissioner of Technology, Secretary, Senators.

2.9 ORDER OF SUCCESSION
2.9.1 The order of succession shall be; President, Vice President, Treasurer, Commissioner of Student Affairs, Commissioner of Inter Club Council, Commissioner of Legislative Affairs, Commissioner of Public Relations, Commissioner of Technology, Senators.
2.9.2 Any officer may forfeit her/his right of succession.
