Title V - ASG Standing Committees

TITLE V-ASG STANDING COMMITTEES CODE

5.0 STANDING COMMITTEES
5.0.1 The Standing Committees of the ASG shall include, but not be limited to: Finance, Social Activities, Elections, Public Relations, Special Projects. Only official committee members shall be allowed one (1) vote each, except the Chairperson, who shall only vote in case of a tie.

5.1 FINANCE COMMITTEE
5.1.1 Shall consist of a Chairperson, the Treasurer.
5.1.2 Shall further consist of Senators as appointed by the President. (section      4.1.2 amended 04/27/00).
5.1.3 The duties of the Finance Committee shall include:
5.1.3.1 Aiding the Treasurer in formulating the budget.
5.1.3.2 Advising the ASG on financial matters via the Treasurer.
5.1.3.3 Review of contracts. Minutes of all Finance Committee meetings must be kept and shall include the names of all members present or absent.
5.1.4 The Finance Committee must act upon all financial matters before they may be presented to the Senate(if over $3000) or the Legislative Branch.
5.1.5 If the Legislative Branch wishes to bypass the Finance Committee, such action requires two-thirds (2/3) vote.
5.1.6 Final approval of all financial matters requires a two-thirds (2/3) vote of Legislative Branch.
5.1.7 Shall meet at least bimonthly and as convened by the Treasurer.

5.2 SOCIAL ACTIVITIES COMMITTEE
5.2.1 Shall consist of a Chairperson, the Commissioner of Student Affairs.
5.2.2 Shall further consist of the Commissioner of Public Relations (or designee), Senators, and Other Students.
5.2.3 The duties of the Social Activities Committee shall include:
5.2.3.1 Organizing, promoting, and supervising all student events.

5.3 ELECTIONS COMMITTEE
5.3.1 Shall consist of a Chairperson, the Commissioner of Student Affairs,.
5.3.2 If the Commissioner of Student Affairs, is a candidate for an ASG office, then the President shall appoint a Commissioner of Elections, subject to the approval of the ASG. The new Commissioner of Elections shall relieve the Commissioner of Student Affairs, of responsibility for the election. All actions of the Commissioner of Elections may be subject to ASG review.
5.3.3 The committee shall further consist of Senators and Other Students not running for office in that election.
5.3.4 The duties of the Elections Committee shall include:
5.3.4.1 Facilitating the elections of the ASG in accordance with the election code set fort in this document.

5.4 PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE
5.4.1 Shall consist of a Chairperson, the Commissioner of Public Relations.
5.4.1.1 Shall further consist of the Commissioner of Student Affairs, (or designee), Senators, and Other Students. (section 4.8.1.1 amended 04/27/00).
5.4.2 The duties of the Public Relations Committee shall include:
5.4.2.1 Maintaining a favorable image of the ASG within the campus and community.
5.4.2.2 Publicize events sponsored by the ASG.
5.4.3 Coordinate with the Commissioner of Student Affairs, concerning publicity of the Associated Student Body I.D. Card.

5.5 SPECIAL PROJECTS COMMITTEE
5.5.1 Shall be Chaired by appointment of the ASG President.
5.5.2 Shall consist of the Treasurer, Commissioner of Student Affairs, Commissioner of Public Relations, and Three(3) Senators.
5.5.3 Shall undertake the development of projects as directed by the ASG President, that does not fall into the jurisdiction of one of the other Standing Committees.
