President's Message:

Greetings! I am La Toya Daniels, the ASG President for the 2008-2009 school year. It is my great pleasure to welcome all students to Sacramento City College. It is a wonderful school. As you become acclimated to the campus and community of SCC, I hope you take some time to meet me and the board of students that represent you.

Please take some time to browse our page or visit us personally. I look forward to meeting and representing you. Below is a brief description of what my position entails.

The ASG President is responsible for creating the agenda and chairing the ASG board meetings as well as cabinet meetings and attending Executive Council.

In addition to these responsibilities, the ASG President is the leader in developing the group’s goals, and manages the process and effectiveness of carrying out the organizations projects. Above all the ASG President is the voice for the student body and advocates for their interests.

The President’s role is an excellent learning experience for a responsible student who wants to get more involved. It teaches skills in leadership, delegation, communication, organization, time management, group dynamics and so much more. The role, however, is time consuming; it averages about 10-20 hours per week.

If you are interested in the position, join ASG and after one semester you will be eligible to run for President during election time.
