Course Objectives

It is often said, “the only thing that is constant is change.” We face change both at work and in our personal lives. Explore our natural tendencies and the tendencies of our customers to resist change. Topics will include models and stages of change. Learn how to adapt, survive, and thrive when organizations change.

Course Content

  • Why do we resist change?
  • Symptoms and how to deal with them
  • Skills needed for managing change
  • Stages of change and how to effectively deal with each one
  • Managing organizational change -Preparing for and communicating about change -Increasing team involvement and developing an action plan
  • Who Moved My Cheese?
  • Paradigm shifts

Methods of Instruction

  • Class discussion and participation
  • Experiential learning activities
  • Individual and group problem solving
  • Case analysis
  • Lecture
  • Video presentation

Additional Information

  • Each course is 9 hours
  • Participants will receive 1/2 unit of college credit per course.
