Sample Syllabi

You can check out courses in Socrates that have added DE modes. These will also help you craft your own Socrates course outline.

A few of our DE instructors have also generously offered to share their DE syllabi. They each also said it would be all right to contact them if you have any specific questions:

Hybrid: CISW350: Imaging for the Web by Prof. Stephanie Low

Interactive Television: RE 310: Real Estate Practice by Prof. Pat Hogarty.

Online: CISW 370: Designing Accessible Web Sites by Prof. Stephanie Low.

Telecourse: GEO 320: World Regional Geography by Prof. Michael Hunter.

Instructor Web Page Samples

Having a full-information web site that contains syllabi and other course information will allow a student to preview the course and decide if it is right for them. This helps ensure better retention because the student knows what will be expected.
Your web site need not be complicated, and your Instructional Development Department and Distance Education Coordinator are ready to help you create the web page you want.

Prof. Pam Flaherty, Sociology
Prof. Stephanie Low, CIS Department
Prof. Alex May, Math
Prof. Amy Zannakis, CIS Department
