General Principles
PSYC 300 General Principles 3 Units
Prerequisite: None.
Advisory: ENGRD 110, ENGWR 100, and/or LIBR 318 with a grade of "C" or better, or placement through the assessment process.

Description: This course is an introduction to the
scientific study of human behavior. Students will be introduced to
foundation principles and current trends in the field of psychology.
Concepts that are explored include methods of psychological inquiry,
the biological basis of behavior, sensation, perception, states of
consciousness, learning, memory, cognition, motivation, emotion, stress
and health, personality, developmental psychology, psychological
disorders, psychotherapy, and social psychology. This course is
designed for psychology majors, behavioral and social science majors,
and other students who desire a broad overview of the field.

Telecourse. Students
MUST attend the orientation on-campus on Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009 from
9:15 -11:00 am in LR 105. The remaining on-campus sessions for review
and testing will be conducted on Saturday, Feb. 7, Feb. 28, Mar. 7, Apr. 4, May 9, May 16. Students
will complete the assigned reading, view the television/video series,
complete written assignments, and participate online through
