New features currently being discovered :-) Immediately I found the navigation area has two boxes: Tools and Refresh/Detail. I really like the Detail to see an outline of my course. Use the Control Panel to hide the Tools and Communication buttons/links because they are now duplicated in the boxes. Past features in 6.1.3
Edit View is a link on the right side of any content area. This link will let you edit a content item without going to the Control Panel area first. This link is actually a toggle Edit View / Display View. You can add new items or folders in the edit mode. WYSIWYG Editing is currently available for Windows and the Internet Explorer browser. I am experimenting with Firefox on both the Macintosh and Windows operating systems and do not yet see this feature working (yet it does work on our Manila server). If you want to use HTML code or vanila
text (go back to the old text editor view), then follow this sequence to turn off the WYSIWYG
editor. Welcome tab > Personal Information > Edit Personal
Information > Text Editor Options > Enable WYSIWYG Editor -
DISABLE > Submit.
Glossary can be uploaded for class specific words. Messages is an internal messaging system where you do not have to leave Bb to read class related (email) messages. Student Web Pages This tool enables students to create personal web pages within a Blackboard course account. It works the same way as the Faculty Information tool works for instructors: fill in a few fields, add a picture, and click Submit. This tool is useful in helping students develop a sense of community in a fully online class. With it students can share some of their personal interests and (if they choose) their appearance.
