It is possible to have a direct link to the gradebook in your Course Navigation links/buttons. Otherwise this is available to students through Tools > Gradebook.
It is important to enable My Grades or your students might see an error. You will not know this until they tell you or if you have a student account so you can test this yourself.
CONTROL PANEL > MANAGE TOOLS > TOOL AVAILABILITY
Confirm that Gradebook has a checkmark
Confirm that My Grades has a checkmark
CONTROL PANEL > MANAGE COURSE MENU > UPDATE STUDENT TOOLS AREA This entire student tools area can be off (no checkmark) but scroll down to My Grades and make sure the radio button for Available is enabled. If you make a change be sure to click the Submit button at the bottom of the page.
Add a Tool Link to the Course Menu and choose My Grades from the pull-down menu. Test your course navigation changes.
Reorder your course menu links as desired.
Nicole Woolley reports this note to students:
I want to clarify something about the Blackboard grade book. When you click on My Grades a date is listed for each entry. It reflects the date I created the item in the grade book. It has nothing to do with the due date, or anything else for that matter. In fact, I wish I could hide it from the student view because many people have been confused by it. So, please just ignore it.
