Outlook Email

Online Rosters - aka Online Grading System, OGS

iMail - Student Email

New for Fall 2006, your online rosters will include both phone numbers and campus email addresses under the Contact Students tab. This information comes out of the student's college application and has not been verified. Students are encouraged to activate their iMail accounts through the eServices class registration process. When you send email through the OGS, there is no guarantee that students will recieve your messages. Plan on rewarding students who reply to your email (rewards need not be consumable or spendable).

Manila - Web Server Accounts

  • Attend a Manila 101 workshop

File Server - Accounts

  • Email Daniel Kwong from your SCC account with a File Server request message. He creates accounts and send basic instructions. This service is web-based for faculty file access only. Requires a login and password so students will not be accessing these files.

Blackboard Classes - until June 30, 2009

Desire2Learn Classes - new learning management system (LMS)

  • SCC Online Institute is held in a four-day intensive session in May/June 2009, between spring and summer semesters.

Foundation for California Community Colleges has work-at-home licenses for educators. Visit http://www.foundationccc.org/Default.aspx?tabid=138 for more information. If you are purchasing the newest version of Microsoft Office, and you are a Blackboard user -- Beware that Office 2007 (windows) and 2008 (mac) are not yet cleared as Blackboard compatible. Several faculty have reported success with the new version but Murphy is always waiting to stir in chaos when you least expect it.
