Mission Statement

The International Studies Program (ISP )at Sacramento City College promotes curriculum development, faculty development, and student academic preparation; it provides an interdisciplinary integrated approach in international studies to:

  1. Instill Sacramento City College's students with a global economic, social, and political perspectives;
  2. Promote development to address the needs of students in the areas of international studies by working in partnership with the public and private sectors; and,
  3. Provide equal access and leadership of the college's capabilities, available resources, and institutional commitments to ensure program longevity.
The International Studies Program Mission Statement presents the opportunity for the development of the program and curriculum. It is the intention of the program to work with other divisions, departments, and institutions to serve students and faculty interested in the areas of study. Our mission is to focus on California's future workforce to meet the challenge of global competitiveness and the respondsibilities of global citizenship.

Sacramento City College
Sacramento City College (SCC), founded in 1916, is the seventh oldest public community college in California and the oldest institution of higher learning in Sacramento. Located on sixty acres opposite William Land Park and a few miles from the State Capitol, it currently serves a culturally diverse student body of 17,000 including international students from approximately 60 different countries. This diverse students body provides a wonderful environment for learning about other cultures first-hand.

Admission/Registration/Cost

Sacramento City College is a public community college and charges no tuition; however, students are currently charged a modest enrollment fee. This fee is subject to change; the current class schedule should be referred to for the current fee. Students must also pay for books and other materials necessary to the course of instruction in which they are enrolled. Financial Assistance is available in the form of student employment, loan funds, nand grants (contact the Financial Aid Office, 558-2501).

If you are a high school graduate or over 18 years of age and can demonstrate ability to profit from community college education, you are eligible to enroll at SCC. Application forms and enrollment information can be obtained from the Office of Admissions (558-2438).
