Q Are employers hiring at the Career Day & Job Fair? A Yes. Many employers will be interviewing and hiring people at the Career Day & Job Fair. Please see the attached list of attending employers to determine who is hiring, accepting applications/resumes, and offering internships.
Q How should I dress for the Career Day & Job Fair? A Business casual is appropriate for an outdoor Career Day & Job Fair. This means clothing could be color-coordinated and shouldn’t be worn, ripped or dirty. Cotton or khaki material works well for both men and women. For women: no midriffs or see-through clothing, less makeup, jewelry, and perfume.
Q What should I ask an employer? A Having some questions ready to ask recruiters at a career fair is always a good idea. Please review the list of suggested questions on the reverse side of this handout. If you would like additional assistance, come to one of the workshops being held on the day of the fair (information regarding workshop times available in the Career Center RN 147)
Q What is an internship? A An internship is an opportunity to work in a field related to your major. This experience will give you hands-on experience and a prime opportunity to decide if you really like the work you would be doing in your career-of-choice. It will also give you < the opportunity to network (98% of all jobs are found through networking). Internships may be paid or unpaid and generally last for one semester.

Select SCC as your school; in the Category box, find and select your major. A list of current internships will appear. The internship titles are hot links; if you select one, a detailed description of the internship will appear.
Q How can I find out more about the Career Day & Job Fair? A Come to Career & Job Services for a list of attending employers, assistance with your resume, interviewing, researching employers and cover/thank-you letters.
