Introduction to Elementary Teaching
Welcome to Introduction to Elementary Teaching With Field Experience!
This course is a "hybrid" course which means we meet for the first 3 weeks on campus, MW 7:30-8:50 am and then you will be placed at an elementary school for your lab times (MW 7:30-9:20). We will meet 3-4 times again on campus throughout the semester and the last week of class. You are required to complete weekly assignments, quizzes, and journals online using the Desire2Learn program.
You should not plan to take a MW 9 am class! When you are at the elementary schools, you will not have time to get back on campus.
This is a wonderful class to help you clarify your career goals. At the end of the semester, you will either decide that teaching is not for you or you will be so excited that you will be motivated to complete all of your transfer classes so that you can become a teacher!
You must attend the mandatory orientation Wednesday, Jan. 21, 7:30-8:50 am, in RHS 273.
Below is a "Teacher Prep Bulletin" that I put out each semester to help students take the right transfer courses. Spring 2009 Teacher Prep Bulletin
