Email and Computers
All full-time faculty are provided with a computer. Both full-time and adjunct faculty have access to computer use in division offices and also in the New Media Lab. Should problems with your computer arise, you can call the Computer Services Help Line at 558-2222.
A personal email account and login will be established for you. Typically, your login will be the first six letters of your last name (or your entire last name, if it is shorter than six letters), plus the initial of your first name. This will also be the prefix of your email address, followed by "@scc.losrios.edu." Your login and password combination allow you to access your intranet account.
Instructional Development offers several opportunities for training in various computer software programs. The program that you will probably be using most often is Outlook. Not only do we read our email through Outlook, but this program also offers a personal calendar, access to other users' calendars with the ability to request meetings, task organization, and access to public folders. Outlook training is typically offered during Flex Week and at various times during the year.
