Learning Resource Center Services
The Learning Resource Center houses several resources available to both students and staff.
Library
The library's regular hours are Monday - Thursday: 7:30 am - 9:30 pm, Friday: 7:30 am - 5:00 pm, and Saturday: 8:30 am - 3:00 pm. Special Collection hours are Wednesday and Thursday 7:30 am - 2:30 pm.
A complete list of library services is available online. Instructors can arrange library orientations for their classes if the students will be conducting research for term papers or other projects.
Everyone must obtain an access card in order to check out books and videos, and to use the library's online services. A card can be obtained at the Library Circulation Desk. Please bring a photo ID and your Employee ID number.
Instructional Media
Instructional Media, located in LR 144, has a number of services available to staff. Equipment is available for check-out, such as a laptop computer, projector, DVD equipment cart, CD player, etc. This is also where instructors come to check out videos. Videos can be placed on hold for a specific time period in order to ensure that they are available when needed. Additions to the video library can also be requested through Instructional Media.
Distance Education
Distance Education is learning outside of the classroom through such mediums as television and the internet. Distance Education courses require fewer classroom hours and are therefore optimal for students who are working, have families, or other obligations. As an instructor, you might decide to teach a Distance Education course. There are several opportunities during Flex Week and at other times during the academic year for you to learn about this option.
