Department SLO Assessment Planning Tools

SLO Assessment Strategy  The department/unit-level SLO assessment strategy was developed by the SLO advisory group with input from campus-wide workshops and the Academic Senate.  This strategy was approved by the Academic Senate in May, 2008 as a tool to assist departments in their efforts to institute an ongoing cycle of SLO assessment.  

This strategy and the accompanying Department SLO Assessment Plan described below were used by at least 12 instructional departments beginning in Spring, 2008.  Many Student Service areas have also begun to use similar plans to facilitate their SLO assessment efforts. A sample of these initial efforts are listed below.

Department SLO Assessment Tools

The Excel template and associated tools below have been developed by the SLO advisory group to aid departments in their planning for course SLO assessments.  The templates are meant to be used in a collaborative fashion within a particular department.
