Introduction
By connecting on a personal level with our colleagues and students, we lay the foundation needed to transform Sacramento City College from institution to community. Our Fall 2006 theme highlights the goal of “connectedness.” On Friday, our guest facilitator, Itara O’Connell, will offer “Connecting Compassionately for Professional and Personal Effectiveness.” Several workshops offered by our colleagues also address this theme, including “Teaching Strategies and Technologies for Students with Learning Challenges” with David Hagerty and Liz Johnson, “Coffee and Donuts with a Cop” with Valerie Cox and John McPeek, “The Hand that Rocks the Cradle Rules the Nation” with Gerri Scott, and “Take 5! Great Ideas for Active Learning” with multiple facilitators.
