Orientations to the Learning Skills and Tutoring Center for all classes, but especially beneficial for English as a Second Language, Nursing, Athletics, and College Success including special emphasis sections recommended for re-entry and disabled students. Our goal is to make the Learning Skills and Tutoring Center a familiar area that the students will feel comfortable coming to for assistance.
Workshops - Scheduled and "by request" workshops available on topics such as time management, how to read a textbook and test taking skills. Additionally, test taking workshops have been custom designed to meet the needs of nursing students.

Beacon Tutoring Groups. If you would like to participate in the Beacon Program, please complete the Beacon Application 2 and return it to Ginnie Gessford in the Learning Skills and Tutoring Center. The application process needs to be completed before the forming of a Beacon Group to insure funding for the Beacon tutor. The Beacon PAL learning groups are offered only in courses in which the instructor has elected to participate in the program. Therefore, only students enrolled in those courses will be eligible to join the groups. For more information please see Beacon PAL.
Refer your entire class for tutoring. Please use this Class-Tutoring Referral form to refer all the students in your class to any tutoring center on campus. You will need a different referral form for each tutoring center you would like to refer to. Send the referral form to the appropriate tutoring center.
Refer individual students for tutoring. Please use this Tutor Request Form for to refer one student for tutoring in the Learning Skills and Tutoring Center. Please sign print up the referral form, sign it and give it to the student to bring into the Center. At that time we will schedule a tutoring time for the student..
