Work Experience and Internships
Sunday, August 29, 2004
The Co-op Work Experience Education and Internship Program advances the mission of Sacramento City College by providing internships to qualified students through collaboration with our campus communities and with employers. Internships, coupled with Work Experience classes, promote student success and workforce development by encouraging students to identify career paths, to pursue certificates or two- and four-year degrees tied to those career paths, and to achieve successful job placement through internships.
The Department is comprised of two parts: The Internship Program offers qualified, interested students the opportunity to tie their academic training (in their majors) to the workplace through paid or unpaid internships and student assistantships. The online and face-to-face Work Experience classes permit part-time and full-time employees, student assistants, interns and volunteers the opportunity to earn academic credit for their workplace hours, documentation of their job and internship experiences, and enhanced knowledge regarding the workplace and economic trends of the 21st century workplace.
